Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

  • Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a laser scientifically proven to encourage hair growth by penetrating the hair follicle roots, slowing or stopping hair loss, regrowing new hairs and thickens current follicles (Pillai and Mysore, 2021; Zarei et al., 2016).
  • Photons from LLLT are absorbed by the hair follicle cells leading to an increase in adenosine triphosphate (ATP) (energy source for cell activity). This increases blood flow to the scalp (increasing nutrients) and dormant hairs can be activated back into the anagen phase of hair growth.
  • LLLT is also studied to reduce inflammation which means that a healthier scalp can increase healthy hairs and this can also include reducing inflammation caused by scalp eczema and psoriasis (Zhang and Wu, 2018). The treatment is also shown to support the health of follicles following a hair transplant (smilehairclinic, 2025).

  • In clinic, 1-2 sessions are often required and clients will benefit from a home care regime alongside the LLLT for optimal results.
  • At LAABS the cost is just £25 per session with a 10 session offer of just £189 (including free scalp analysis every 4 weeks and a home maintenance kit worth £29).
  • Results are usually within 3 to 6 months.
